The show is meant to demonstrate how one might survive alone in a remote location with minimal supplies until being rescued. Finding food, water, and materials to make fire and shelter pose the main challenges of each episode.

I have only watched a few episodes but i can say Les Stroud is the MAN. Those who love the outdoors would really appreciate this show. Imagine going into the forest, dessert, mountain or the snow with only a few things in you backpack. Im actually learning something from him about finding shelters, setting up traps and finding food. I think i can survive now.. but not alone.. ahaha who am i kidding.. But what i found interesting in his show compared to other survival shows is that he does not have a camera crew with him. Only 2 video cameras and a tripod. He does all the filming. Makes me wanna buy a video camera.

They were Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler having a countdown of the Top 50 Country Music Videos of 2008. I only know a couple of country music artists, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Leann Rymes and Carrie Underwood just to name a few. I have heard Taylor Swift, they play her song "Love Story" a lot here on the radio and its a catchy song. It has been my LSS a couple of times. Kellie Pickler i haven't really heard her sing but i saw her once on TV hosting the New Year Countdown in Timesquare NY with Ryan Seacrest.

Anyway...Country music is not really big in the Philippines. There are only a few songs that get played there. Watching that show opened my eyes.. my ears a bit about country music. Country songs has really good lyrics and good melodies. Right now, when i go home from work the car radio is set to XM17 the PrimeCountry Music Channel. They play a lot of good stuff in there.

Its a new year. A new beginning. There are a lot of things that i took for granted last year and this year i would like to make up for it. I haven't made my list of things to accomplish for the year and since i really would like to think about it. I am giving myself until January 15, 2010 to come up with a list of accomplishments.. err i meant January 15, 2009.. i knew that.. ahaha.. This year will be LEGENDARY! **high 5!

I cant believe that I forgot about the Gaylord Texan Ice Exhibit. It is one of the biggest Ice sculpture exhibit here in Texas. I totally slipped my mind. I thought it was still running until the end of the week. When i checked earlier to get tickets i found out i ended last Saturday. Too bad i didn't get to see it.. hopefully i could see it next year.. if I'm still here.. lol.. i wish..

I thought this was my first post of the year.. but i realized i greeted everyone a few days ago.. thus the title....

Thanksgiving.. Sale?!?!

Thursday we where invited by our teammate Ms Liza to join her family for a Thanksgiving dinner. Since we didn't want to cook any turkey at home because it was too big for the 3 of us. We thought that would be fun to be with a family who has celebrated thanksgiving and there would definitely be a large turkey involved.

We went there at 7pm and met Liza's husband, father, kids and some of her friends. They where really accommodating and they cook really well. The turkey was soooo great. I have tasted turkey before when I went to the state fair but this was different. It was not as dry as the one in the fair. I had too much to eat that night.

Another big event here is the Thanksgiving Sale. Also known as Black Friday Sale, the stores nationwide would open as early as 12AM and 5AM with huge discounts. The items were limited but you could get a good laptop for $200 if you are early. So, after the dinner we went to Allen Outlet Shops. We heard on the radio that stores would open up at 12AM so we decided to leave the house at 11:30, it was only a 15 minute drive, and we figured it was okay if we were not in front of the line.

The line.. the line was long.. the line was friggin long.. the line extended to the highway.. We got there at 11:45 and on our exit it was traffic so being geniuses that we are, our backup plan was to pass the north exit and circle around the next exit so we could go in trough the south.. Since the Outlet compound is right next to the highway you could see the traffic that was going in and also get a glimpse of the parking lot. The parking lot was full and there where alot of headlights from the north, south, east and west of the Outlet. The lines was around a mile long on all directions. There were patrol cars making sure that the traffic was moving.

Long story short, we went home had a good night sleep and went back at 7am. My first Thanksgiving experience was crazy! woooot..

With all the hype i have heard from the radio regarding the movie Twilight we decided to see it. I haven't read the book so i can not say if the movie did the book justice. But, overall the movie was good.. It was a mix of romance, action and some funny scenes.. I guess you already know that and, i have to say this... Kristin Stewart (Bella) is cute!

I have always been interested with the story of Vampires. Queen of the Damned, Underworld and Van Hellsing are just some of the movies with Vampires and Werewolfs. I also was under the impression that Vampires turn to dust when the UV rays of the Sun touch their skin. In the movie Twilight it was different, Vampires glow when they are hit by sunlight. Well i guess since the book/movie has a young target audience, turning to dust would just be too much. And that may not help the romantic storyline that they have. Though they had a different take on Vampires, their plight against the Warewolfs was still there. My only comment about Vampires in movies is that they are all good looking. Well maybe not all movies but most of the ones i have seen.

I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Coldplay Live. One of my all time favorite bands and i really wanted to see them live so I gave in to my being practical and bought tickets yesterday for the Coldplay concert. Without a doubt, that was the best concert i have been to. From the time they started with the song "Violet Hill" to the last song of the night "Yellow" i was on my feet dancing, singing and screaming my lungs out. I absolutely enjoyed every second of the 2 hr long concert. Higlights of the night was.. hmmm.. Its hard to say, every song was great, plus the lighting effects on stage was awsome. They sang all the songs from the Viva La Vida album and other songs like "The Hardest Part", "In My Place", "Fix You", "The Scientist" and "Yellow".

Coldplay you rock! Please tour in Manila!

I have a few videos from my cell phone, i will try to post it later had crappy pics because I was not able to go back home from work to pick up my camera..I said hello and met a new friend.. but i have failed..
I posted some of the pics i got from the Rockband Live concert. The concert was great. I really didn't know much a bout the other bands, but they have some good stuff. It was the first time i heard The Cab, i like their song "Bounce". Plain White T's also had an interesting set of songs. I only heard them once before from the song "Hey there Delilah". I really don't know the titles of their other songs but there is this song that got stuck in my head. The title is "1,2,3,4" and it had a very catchy lyrics and tune... "You make it easy... Its as easy as 1-2-1-2-3-4... There’s only one thing... To Do... Three words.. For you.. (I love you) I love you.." Panic at the Disco was good too. Their lead vocal was all around the place.. One song on the guitar, one song on the keyboards, there was even one song when he started on the keyboards at the left part of the stage then at the middle of the song went bunny hopping to the right side of the stage then played the drums.. and he did all that while singing..

Dashboard Confessional had the best set of all the 3 bands in my opinon. Chris, the vocals of the band was cracking jokes in the middle of songs.. It was really fun to watch, i would definitely watch them again if they go to Manila. The highlight of their set was when Chris called out some of the band members of The Cab and Plain White T's to help him play the next song.. "So What" by Pink.. Ahahaha.. I have the whole thing in video but the audio is a bit messed up. ..
"Yooourr hairrr issss everywhereeee SCREAMING Infidelities and taking its wearrrrr"..
"Youuuu haveeee stooolennnn myyyyyy !!!
" Hands down this is the best day I can ever remember, I'll always remember the sound of the stereo, the dim of the soft lights, the scent of your hair that you twirled in your fingers and the time on the clock when we realized it's so late and this walk that we shared together. The streets were wet and the gate was locked so I jumped it, and I let you in. And you stood at your door with your hands on my waist and you kissed me like you meant it. And I knew that you meant it, that you meant it, that you meant it, and I knew, that you meant it, that you meant it".....

Pictures clickie clickie here...

I got in the car at thinking i would watch the Rockband Live Concert today. I know the concert would start at 7PM but i decided to check the ticket anyway. I reached in to the back seat, got the ticket and started reading the details. Nokia Theater November 12, 2008 (Wed) 7:00PM, then I glanced at my watch 5:48 PM and the little box for the day of the month said 11. Ok! Lets go to the Mavs game!

My first ever live NBA game was really exciting. Mavs came out to a good start however they could not stop the explosiveness of Kobe. It was only in the 4th quarter when the Lakers had the taste of the lead. In the last minute the Lakers was only leading by 3 points. However Dirk fouled out and the Mavs could not get a basket. Final Score Lakers 106 - Mavs 99.

Pics from the game clickie clickie here..

I said "Hi" and made a new friend today while sitting in the park during lunch today. I forgot her name though. We work in the same building so hopefully i see her there tomorrow so i can glimpse at her badge and pretend i didn't forget. ahahaha.. Forgetful Me...

My dilemma for tomorrow is NBA or Rockband Live. Mavs vs Lakers or Panic at the Disco and Dashboard Confessional.. If only i can go to both. I got to watch Jason Mraz live last month. He is a good entertainer.. He knew how to work the crowd.. I didnt get to bring my camera because the entrance said no cameras allowed.. but when i got in there where a lot of peeps with cameras.. aww men.. this time i will be ready!

How are you all doin?

Yes this is be being bored.. It's been 4 months and i guess I'm getting home sick.. For most of the time here its always been wake up-work-go home-go online-watch tv-sleep-wake up-work-go home-and the cycle just continues. There may be the occasional dinner out and movies with my housemates but still the cycle continues. I came across this a few weeks back while i was drinking Starbucks..

I used to feel so alone in the city. All those gazillions of people and then me, on the outside. Because how do you meet a new person? I was very stumped by this for many years. And then I realized, you just say, “Hi.” They may ignore you. Or you may marry them. And that possibility is worth that one word.

–Augusten Burroughs, Author of "Running with Scissors".

As all of you may know, I'm the shy type of person but from now on I'm going to say "Hi" to everyone.

Looooooooongest flight ever.
After and 18 hour flight and 2 airport transfers i finally got to my destination. It was the looooooooooooongest flight ever. Well, my one and only flight before was to Palawan.. so this pretty much does not compare to it.. Ahahaha..

We left Manila at 630 am and took a 4 hour flight to Nagoya Japan. Nagoya airport was really nice. It was the first place where i saw the moving walkway.. Ahahaha. The first time i also saw the squatting toilet bowl.. Ahahaha.. Stayed in Nagoya Airport for an hour. We left Nagoya at 1230 pm and took the 12 hour flight to Detroit. Landed at Detroit at around 1230 pm and was greeted by The Department of Homeland Security, the biggest guys in uniform i have ever seen. Police men in Manila does not compare to them.. Ahahahaha.. Had lunch in Detroit and met a nice girl. Her name was Rain. I'm not sure if i heard it right.. but that was what i remembered. While we were eating she asked us to watch her luggage while she got food. She was actually on here way back to Manila. Spent her summer in the US working and visiting family. At 330 pm we took a 2 hour flight to Dallas Texas.

Home for the next few months.
Finally I'm in Dallas. My new home for the next few months. This is my first time away from home. My first time out of the country. First time renting an apartment. So many firsts.. ehehehe. We will be apartment hunting this week. The current apartment we are in now is really nice but the lease will be ending next week and it is too expensive for us..

This is a beginning of a new adventure for me. Sooooooo.. Wish me luck!

I was feeling a bit under the weather today. Well for the last few days. It started last Sunday, when I got home after the race i was feeling tired. My body was aching and i got a runny nose.

When I got up monday morning i decided to stay in. Was not able to go to work but still went on a meeting at around 3pm in Libran. Well, Libran (Makati) is closer to home than UBP (Ortigas). Plus i really had to go to that meeting. After the meeting i got some DVD's. I missed a few good movies last month so i tried to get them. The 15 in one DVD are cheaper to get. The quality is not that great.. but hey i get 14 more movies for the price of one.. Here is a list of what I'm going to watch..

1. Juno
2. Good Luck Chuck
3. Heartbreak Kid
4. Jumper
5. Meet the Spartans
6. Step Up 2
7. Chuck and Larry - Already saw this but Jessica Beil is so HOTTTT!
8. There are a few more but I'm tired to go to my room and get the dvd cover...

Anyhoo.. I got off work a couple of hours early today. Got home at 5:30PM then went straight to bed. Just got up to get dinner drink my Meds and check my mail.. Better get back to rest now..

I Ran To Save The Reef

Went to The Fort Global City to join the Race to save the Tubbataha Reef earlier. I joined the 5k Race but was late for around 10 mins. As soon as i got to the event place the race gun for the 5k had started. While walking towards the start/finish line the racers was already running. I hurried to get my self registered so that i could still run the 5k race. After 10 minutes, the 3k race started, i was able to start with them but still took the 5k route. After about 1.6 km into the race i was able to catch up with some of the 5k runners. I finished the race but still was not last. Checking my watch i was able to go around the 5k track at around 50 minutes. That is slow. But i had fun.

Today I ran to save the reef.

After the race we took some pictures and went around Bonifacio High Street, Serendra and Market Market.
